Hi, I'm Rhose (Roëlla) 23 years old and born and raised in Friesland, The Netherlands. The owner of Beauty by Rhose. I've started doing my own make-up at the age of 15. At first it was just a hobby, but the more compliments people gave me the more I saw and felt that I could make my living out of it. When I'm not between the brushes and palettes I love going to concerts, I get alot of inspiration from there too, or go on a walk with my dog Nala. But I can get totally lost in a fantasy novel too.
As a kid growing up I soon noticed how easy it is to be different in Friesland and when I started to wear more outgoing make-up I felt it myself too. This is the main reason for my goal to have Creativity Over Standards. Almost everything is possible as long as it makes you happy <3
Creativity over beauty norms. That's why I started this business. I have the intention to highlight everyones own beauty and make it even better. A beauty spot or scar should be loved, not covered up. (Eventhough I can do that also ;) )
Recently loads of people have been fighting with the IG beauty standards with all the filters and extremely edited posts that come with it. I want you to be you and enhance that with the power of make-up.
Here to make sure everyone feels welcome, comfortable and heard. Beauty by Rhose is a safe space for LHBTQIA+ and stands against racism, homophobia and testing on animals.

The road to my own business
After deciding to focus more on make-up in January '20, I started a course at Domestika called Introduction To Professional Make-Up Techniques. And followed that up with Professional Make-Up For Photoshoots. Already getting the hang of the most parts of make-up and the importance hygiene rather quick.
I started to look for a MUA school in early '24 and soon remembered that Art Of Colors came across my page when they send MUAH's to Eurovision in Rotterdam back in 2021. Went to an open day and it felt like a perfect fit! Started the Pro Make-Up Artist course in October '24 and I have my exam in June '25
During this course the school highlighted that usually rather hire a MUAH, not a MUA. This made me decide to also follow their On Set Hairstyling course in April/May '25.
It was my dream to be nominated for the Advanced Make-Up Artist course, also by Art Of Colors, and I did! I will start this in September '25. This course has 7 masterclass lessons with photoshoots all regarding a specific creative themes. From Drag to Macro and a Procelain doll to all about colors.
To continue learning I signed up at Laudius for their Visagist - Make-up Artiest course, as there is no such things as too much information.
